RedFisha
2002 Redfisher 16 2002 F115 Four Stroke Quicksilver Silverado 3 Blade 13 x 18 Pitch Results: 6000 RPM/47 MPH GPS The hole shot is terrible with a total of 3 people on board. I want to go to a 4 Blade and maintain the 6000 RPMs. Which is the right size prop for this engine? 4 Blade 13" x 17 Pitch or 4 Blade 13.25" x 16 Pitch Anyone running these two sizes? Let me know your results. Thanks!

MuddyBottomBluz
I had a 13 x 17 4 blade on my "89" 17 Redfisher with an old Johnsonrude 110 that ran 50, trimmed just right. You are on a good starting point with your selections. Jumped outta the hole incredibly!

That's the same gear ratio as my Yamaha 115 SHO, on a Redfisher 16. I'm running a Merc Spitfire X7 13 x 17p. I can get 49 MPH at 6400 RPM with a light load, so it might work well with your setup. Hole shot is the best out of many props tested. I have also heard good reports on the Solas HR Titan 4 (or Rubex HR 4) which comes in a 13 x 17p and 13.25 x 15p. A good rule of thumb is 1/4" more diameter equals about 2/3" more pitch. Like Muddy says - you are on the right track! Good luck! Edit: I should clarify the diameter to pitch comparison... I should have said: A good rule of thumb is 1/4" more diameter absorbs the torque of about 2/3" more pitch.
RedFisha
Geeviam and Muddy- Thanks for the information. I’m glad to hear you were getting great top speeds and better hole shots. I just ordered the Rubex HR4 13.25 x 16P.

Wow 50 MPH back in the day 1989 before most people had GPS speedometers Or 4 blade props a 17 ft lab side running 50 MPH with a 110 HP motor and a 17 pitch prop would of been flying !! 🚀🚀🚀 . MuddyBottomBluz
The boat was an "89" I just sold it 2 years ago. The 4 blade was put on about 4 years before I sold it. The guy I sold too was white knuckled because he was holding on so tight running wide open in a canal for the test ride.

Cruise speed 27-30 MPH (4000 RPM). Top speed 41 MPH (6100 RPM). 3 Blade Quicksilver 13 x 18P Two person - 6 seconds to plane (4000 RPM). Cruise speed 35 MPH. Top speed 47 MPH (6000 RPM). How is the ride? Is it a bow lifter as advertised? Can you run without porpoising, at all speeds without using trim tabs?

Did it meet your expectations? How is the ride? Is it a bow lifter as advertised? Can you run without porpoising, at all speeds without using trim tabs? The Solas Prop met my expectations. The ride was nice and leveled. The bow doesn't lift anymore. You will need to use trim tabs to prevent porpoising. The turns are also much more controlled and the 4 blade prop has better grip in the turns vs. the 3 blade. These Solas props are a great value. Solas also recommends a 4 blade 13 diameter x 17 pitch. This might be another option.
