linesider 159
My buddy just redid his 21 fusion and we finally got to run it the other day. Went from a 150 Yamaha to a 250 SHO. Full rewire, dual powerpoles, 10 inch jackplate, Lowrance 12 inch, some custom cushions, and had the console custom painted black with carbon fiber panels. Came out awesome and she screams! So far we have seen 68.7 MPH and working on hitting the 70 mark. What a blast it is to do some prop testing again. Ill snap some more photos this evening but it turned out beautiful and has a really classy look PS: if anyone has any 24-27 pitch props they would be willing to let us try, let me know! Do you remember how the grip on that one was once you raise the plate?
mulligan
It has been awhile since I ran it. I think it did okay with the plate around 2 which was also about where it liked to be run but was not the gripiest prop by any means. With a normal load it ran about 65-66 @ 55oo or so. I do remember it being a handful to drive with that prop.
linesider 159
Almost blew my sterling over the front when I ran it I do remember that . Hit a wave and she took off! The fusion needs that much lift with the console being far forward. Ill probably shoot you a text to see if I can swing by
linesider 159
Little update! Swapped out the livewell grate for one completely flush and BAM, 74.6 mph light. Livewell grate was causing major slip and speed loss. Boat was extremely stable at that speed and spun the 26.5 bravo all the way to 6000 rpm. This boat went from 47 mph with a 150 4 stroke to 74.6 with a 250 SHO. WOWW!!
mulligan
That is awesome! Hope you buy him a nice lunch. Can you elaborate on the grate maybe with a pic? No matter what prop I run or the work done to them my slip numbers are always on the high side. I always just thought it was the hull.

linesider 159
I'll grab a pic tonight. Basically pulled the metal cheese grater off and did a starboard one completely flush with no gaps. Buddy made it and said it took 2 hours to get perfect

JEM
If the sea chest grate is a standard size, I will sign up for one!!!!!!!!! I have my paypal ready to go! I just didn't realize that the metal grate wasn't completely flush to begin with? I am dropping my boat in the water today, and am going to take a look. mulligan
Dang! I crawled under the boat to look at the cheesegrater and never realized how set in it is. I could not measure both sides due to the trailer bunks but the front was in .1” and the rear .25” and right inline with the outside of the prop. Baits gonna die The added drag is from picking up water. At 74 MPH the bait is gonna die without helmets anyhow. Just busting chops, but sitting on that leaning post at 74 is for you young thunder cats. One chine dip or a need to turn fast your out of there. Race boats always have the driver low in the cockpit. Never above the gunnels in a seat.
