CaptDavis Posted January 15, 2019 Report Posted January 15, 2019 What does everyone do with their freshwater wash down water? Anyone add vinegar? Add bleach? Chlorine? If so, how much? How long will it last? Just to keep the water clean, not asking about changing the too much.
mdemott Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Had freshwater on my Pathfinder and would add a couple of caps of ordinary bleach to prevent any buildup in the tank. Would use the water to rinse off my lures and reels and try to drain the tank with every other trip. Worked well and I never noticed any smell from the tank.
BradM Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I think an RV/Camping store my have some sort of tablet you can use...or that same section in Walmart. I recall this being a popular trick for the guys with water mist systems on their boats.
HoneyB Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I tend to have bleach cleaner around the boat. I when I think about I I spray a couple of shots in the fill. Seems to be enough to keep the water treated and the tank clean.
