jzam Posted May 11, 2019 Report Posted May 11, 2019 Hello all, I've been searching for a new skiff for about a month and after missing out on a pristine/restored HPX I may have found another good boat but it needs cosmetic work. The current owner did not use a cover and as you can see in the photo he had a fish measuring tape decal on the deck that got fried. The boat needs a good cleaning and detailing but I'd like to know if I can remove the decal without too much damage. It's baked on good. Trying to avoid the expense of new non slip or Awlgrip if I do buy the boat. Any advice is appreciated.
hawg Posted May 11, 2019 Report Posted May 11, 2019 You might try some acetone and a stiff nylon brush. Clean the gunk out of the brush frequently. Acetone is extremely flammable so work outdoors in the shade, with no ignition sources in the work area.
East Coast Dave Posted May 12, 2019 Report Posted May 12, 2019 I’ve used the 3m wheel and it works great!

Redrum Posted May 12, 2019 Report Posted May 12, 2019 I've used this product before with good success https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSFD50H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
