justdriftin
I'm looking for a hard bottom waterproof bag to store a 9' cast net, instead of a bucket. Any recommendations for something like this? Thank you!
wthree3
I use a dry bag. Doesn't have a hard bottom but works great. Roll top buckle makes a good carry handle. Soft bag conforms to any compartment without scuffing any surfaces. Walmart has them in their camping department in various sizes. Heavy clear plastic. Less than ten bucks.

DWoodham
How do the bags smell after being sealed up and baking in the heat for a few weeks?

JPizzle
Same as others. Not sure if it is this exact one but similar. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Outdoor-Products-40l-Valuables-Dry-Bag/26674161 Each bag has the diameter and mesh size written with a sharpee so I know which one to grab.

Fishtails
I find that if I store my net hanging with the weights on the floor, it will be a lot more cooperative when I use it. Tim Wade recommended that and it works for me. That being said, the Walmart dry bag should do the trick for you.
Shindig
I picked the bucket up at the Dania Beach Marine Flea Market. $10 or $15. I have two, use one for the cast net which I store in the wer storage behind leaning post and I use one for trash that I sore in rod locker. mdemott
Used to love that event when I lived in S. FL. Really don't have anything like that in N. FL.
Shindig
not sure of the brand or vendor but look up "Freegrace Buckets" on the web. Looks almost identical with different color and size options.

Convertible13
If you want to blow some money, there are bags designed to hold wet fly fishing waders and wading boots. They have a hard bottom. Fishpond and Sims make them, among others.

F1sh0n
When I fished in FL, I would end of walking beaches for mullet. The bucket was great to put a couple of inches of water in to keep the bait. Also, like the bucket when you throw from the boat. I would dump my net in the bucket and toss the bait in a well while dumping the bottom stuff overboard instead of on my deck.

Less than ten bucks. You( and the others that have been doing this) are a genius. I’ve started using dry bags instead of buckets and I’ll never go back. You can fit 3-4 nets in a pathfinder cast net locker instead of one or two. And I like how they don’t get exposed to salt with a water tight seal. I was skeptical, but now totally sold. The directions on my Tim Wades said to hang or store in a bucket, so after washing, I’ll hang to dry, then move to a cleaned and dry, dry bag. Thanks for the great suggestion
