East Coast Dave
I did a boneheaded move last week and reversed the + and - cables on the Maverick. I was shooting the breeze with my neighbor and wasn’t paying attention. Blew the fuse and took me a minute to figure-out it was under the cowling. It was a 20A glass fuse. The one I found at discount auto have gas in them rather than the metal in the inside. Are they acceptable to use?
HoneyB
I didn’t know the new fuses had gas rather than metal. That will be difficult to do a visual check out on the water. But if it’s a 20 amp replacement I don’t see the problem with it.
MuddyBottomBluz
20 amps is 20 amps so no matter what the fusible link is made of you should be fine. The glass tube turns solid black when the fuse blows to indicate that it is blown.
