When trolling motor is removed, only two mall aluminum discs about 3/8" thick remain on the bow. Very clean design.  The discs are screwed into the aluminum backing plate under the deck put in place by Maverick when it built the cap.

Yes, I would install the tackle locker again. I use it on every trip. It saves from asking fishing partners to move to be able to get access into the larger compartments for terminal tackle. Also, it has performed well. No problems. I installed the locker when I bought the skiff in 2000.

Yes, would love to know where you got the compartment.   Since mine is under the knife, might be a great time to install such a thing!
