Slo Poke1
Ran the boat 20 miles this weekend and the pressure gauge was not getting any water. Never ran hot. Checked the tube (top of block, port side) (top starboard side looks like the temp. connection) of what I believe is the port off the engine and no water came out of that either with the flush hose connected. The nipple was not blocked. At this point, I'm glad I have both a pressure gauge and temperature gauge (belt and suspenders) as a lot of folks say you don't need a temp. gauge if you have a pressure gauge. Thoughts? fin-addict
Rather have a temp if only one. With JP would want both. Jmo
Slo Poke1
I removed the starboard thermostat and found a fair amount of white goo behind it, essentially plugging the pressure gauge port. I need to check the other thermostat to see if the water temp. port is also plugged. I'll start using Salt Away flushing.

I bought a large 70 gallon horse drinking plastic tub....it covers the entire lower unit....i add about 1 qt of salt flush and let it run for 20 min. The water heats up and it has a bunch of gunk on the bottom when I'm done. dc
