Chitwood21MA Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 The wait is over- Took delivery of my 2500 last Friday. Family approved lol. Initial Impressions (After 4 hours) Pros- Rides like a Caddy, Lots of Storage, Accessibility to all the important stuff, Super Dry, & She is pretty Cons (minor, really minor)- Not being able to open the front rod lockers with center storage open, The factory Engel cooler wont open without hitting the console, 68 gallon fuel tank, & thats about it so far. So far so good
Tall Tails Posted July 2, 2019 Report Posted July 2, 2019 Mash a couple of tennis balls between the cooler and the console. Problem solved. I put the 65 qt Engle in front of my console. Had the same issue. Tennis balls were handy at the time. almost 2 years later they are still doing the job.
SCFD rtrd. Posted July 2, 2019 Report Posted July 2, 2019 Congratulations, beautiful rig. I had the same issue with my cooler opening. Found some thick self-adhesive pads at Home Depot. Put those on the cooler and that pushed the cooler away from the console, problem solved.
jason p Posted July 3, 2019 Report Posted July 3, 2019 ... and don’t forget to get some duct tape at Home Depot if you wanna flush the motor with muffs. Gotta love these $2 solutions to $100K boat issues😁
finbully Posted July 3, 2019 Report Posted July 3, 2019 Years of enjoyment right there. Congratulations!
Chitwood21MA Posted July 13, 2019 Author Report Posted July 13, 2019 Thanks guys, I had the stereo, vhf, gem 15deg rod/cup holders, & xm weather antenna installed this week, Trying to get everything buttoned up before my keys trip. I went with a Fusion Black Box, JL 800 watt 8 ch amp, 4x JL 7.7" M6's, 2x 8.8" M6's, Garmin GXM 53 XM radio, & Garmin 110 VHF. Dan from Fowler Marine took care of the install. The only thing I don't like is the rod holders visible under the gunnel but I can live with it. Seadek is being installed this week (Under Gunnels, Helm pad, footrest, & top of the console). Thats it for upgrades.... for now
jason p Posted July 16, 2019 Report Posted July 16, 2019 Would the cup/rod holder not fit forward of the gas cap? Not sure but I think I’ve seen rod holders mounted there before on another boat.

Not sure but I think I’ve seen rod holders mounted there before on another boat. We tried, There is a vent for the water tank on the port side that was right in the way.
