Buzzarde
I have a 2018 24' pathfinder with 104 hours. It came with a yamaha digital engine readout which includes the fuel level bar graph. On several trips I have noticed my fuel indication will drop from 4 bars down to 1 bar in a blink! man will that get your focus! The last time it had the last bar blinking! Im not sure whats going on? Could be a bad sending unit or The system has not been calibrated? Anyone elts had this happen?
Bamaskeet
I don’t have any suggestions to fix your problem but I have had good luck using my odometer to determine fuel usage. I get 4 mpg in mixed use. I zero it out during every fill up. It’s scary accurate.
Bruce J
On my 2400 and on my Maverick HPX-T the gas gauge consistently underestimates the gas, and both drop quickly once under half a tank. Of course rule #1 of boat ownership is never to trust the gas gauge. Never. The best thing to do is connect your engine data through a NMEA 2000 backbone and then to your multi-display, Garmin or whatever. Once you get that calibrated it will calculate your fuel burn very accurately and subtract it from your tank capacity to show a much more accurate fuel level.
