Fuel Water Separator

I'm installing a fuel water separator on my 92 Redfisher since it didn't have one.  I need to know what side of the primer bulb it needs to be installed.  I started questioning myself so I went online and I'm seeing it installed on both sides of the primer.  I would think the filter needs to be mounted between the fuel tank and the primer bulb.

I have mine before the fuel water seperator.

That way you can push gas into the filter. If it is after the filter you have to pull it in and that is more difficult  for the  bulb to do.

This right here.  You want to be able to fill the filter.

After the filter .. pull gas all the way through the filter to the motor. Do not underestimate the power of suction, you will be fine

Make sure you run a Mercury ball with two check valves.  A Yamaha ball with only one check valve will definitely struggle to fill an empty filter.
