S2KiiNG
WOW! Great work Golz, you gave the ole' 2400 a new life. She looks great! As far as a repower goes I would personally look at slightly used Sho's. If I were looking to purchase new I would probably go the Suzuki route. They really make a great motor and their warranty is great. I'm not sure where you're located but here in south Florida their dealer network has exploded. Reliable marine in Miami has great prices, I purchased a new Suzuki 150 for my old Mako from them with a command link gauge and controls for approx. 13k out the door. Yamaha dealers wanted 17k just for the motor, I was repowering from an old 2 stroke 130 Yamaha.

I've priced out new Yamaha and Suzuki 250s and was surprised to find the Suzuki to be about $4k more. Granted, that includes replacing all controls that I just installed new in the last year.. Granted, that includes replacing all controls that I just installed new in the last year.. it must be a regional thing based on dealer network and availability then. They have gained so much traction in the repowering market down here in south Florida that the only reason someone would spend their money on another brand is because they're brand loyal to Yamaha or Merc. I have a buddy who just repowered with a 300 Zuke for a lot less then any other engine in its class. In your case it sounds like the Yamaha is your best bet, especially with the new rigging you added recently. Keep us updated!
