Blactaco23
Well after lurking for a while I'm going to try and do a little posting despite the seemingly less and less activity on here. Sooooo I bought my first boat a 94 16ft happy around 12 years ago did a full "half" cap off restore and loved it. I loved working on it driving it looking at it everything. Did everything except paint and hang the motor. I know that sounds dumb but I put a lot of time into it it was my baby. I did a full build on another forum but figured my next build would be better suited here. Long story short my crazy wife left me I got a divorce and well I kept everything. Ended up meeting someone who loves boating so I sold the smaller hewes and bought a newer 18ft hewes CAD hull. The goal is to do another full build thread and ya know post up some of the dumb goofy things I do bounce some ideas off people you know the usual...hewes some of the old boat and some of the new. Got some teaser pics in there Edited January 4 by Blactaco23 Added pic
HoneyB
Cool looking boats. GPS mount is stout to say the least!

The mount was a "just cause I could moment" had the aluminum so I figured why not. Took a while to figure out how to cheat at making the adjustment knobs I didn't make notches I just cut silicone sheet to give it grip.

Blactaco23
Got some primer put on it. Ran out so it's a little thin but helped me see where I needed to do more body work. Having a little issues with dry spray but I think I thinned it too much and need more time setting up the gun...and practice

Blactaco23
so i resprayed the primer in white(figured it might help when putting down the yellow) and started drilling some holes. going to sand it down a bit and spray color soon. i wanted to get the gps mount, handles and rod holders powdercoated in black but thats not in the current budget so for now painting and paracord wrap. also a little comparison, the old switch plate vrs the new plate @flounderpounder did an awesome job and i couldnt be happier unless i got the whole dash done in the cherry burl(might be something later on)

Blactaco23
Well I tried spraying and it went ...eh okish. Basically It got a bit too cold before I realized it. Plus I may have mixed it a little thinner than I should have. In my mind thinner would spray better due to cold but it also caused some runs. I also got a little heavy handed spraying so I ended up with some runs but for my first time spraying not terrible. Heck at this point it looks better than when I started even with runs. I intend on wet sanding and respraying at least one more coat probably two

Blactaco23
Even though I still have a ton of wet sanding and respraying I couldn't help but to throw together a quick teaser and a few transition shots

HoneyB
The weather has my hull on pause as well. Ready to spray primer and paint before I flip it but if it’s warm it’s raining.

Blactaco23
Late night working on the butt as my girlfriend likes calling it...got the outside done going to start working on the inside wiring and getting it into the boat Friday/saturday pardon the dining room assembly area pics. Blactaco23
Now the next step is cleaning this mess up. The wiring wasn't bad so I'm not changing too much just cleaning it up but I feel like some floor updating, drains, and other details are needed. Ordered a bunch of plastic some drains and a new boot. I'm going to remount the wiring "panel" relocate my nema2k network stuff and cut a battery tray so it's all clean looking inside the console. I'm excited. Meanwhile I figured I'd show everyone what I did for my trolling motor batteries/trolling motor also added rod holder cleats among other odds and ends over the last couple months. Threads bout to get pic heavy
Blactaco23
Front compartment with false floorband lithium batteries installed also did gunnel seadeck. Big difference in the console
Blactaco23
So I'm going to dump a bunch of photos so you all can take a peek trolling motor stabilizer and shuttle slide
