Good point. Maybe Minkota has this considered in the design??

I've read on some other forums where people have hit some pretty big wakes or waves and the head has bounced off of the deck.   I hope I never make the kind of a move that I'm crossing anything like that but in case I run into such an unfortunate event, I may just opt for the ram to avoid damage to the deck or the head.

Many thanks for the detailed photos and posts.  How is your rig working out?  And what did you decide about stabilizing the head when stowed?

Also, how did you handle the Link cable?  Did you somehow rig it for quick disconnect?  It looks like the cable connects inside the TM head, and is at least 10' long.  I am just staring the process with a new Riptide Ulterra 80 with the iPilot-Link, and this helps a lot!
