Boat Shoes

Yep on the Simms. Best boat sole out there on flops in my opinion. Their razor siping on both flops and shoes is top notch. More comfortable for me than the OluKai. Those crocs are comfy but when they get worn your going down...or over...yeah...done that.

Oh wait, which forum is this??

You're out of the circle!

Apparently you have have not seen his fashion blog where he shows how to wear fishing pliers with Speedos.

Bass pro shoes mentioned above.  I do exactly the same thing.  Winter and summer pair.  Have six pairs in reserve on my closet shelf.  A steal.

JP

They also have wide sizes. None of the ones everyone has mentioned have wide sizes.

I'm a SoftScience guy now - first pair they sent me rubbed my heels - I emailed them and they sent me another pair of my choice.

I'm using the Drifts now for tarpon season - 3 weeks in and I prefer them greatly to my Olukais - not that the Olukais are/were bad, just that the SS honestly make my back feel less fatigued at the end of a long day.

I do think the Olukais are a little grippier, but I haven't come close to slipping in the SS's yet, so they're grippy enough.

For comfort and usability (and honestly, looks), the SS are the way to go!

I used to go barefoot or flip flops until I saw one of my friends take a grouper's dorsal fin under his big toe toenail. From then on I wear shoes while fishing and that was 15+ years ago.

i usually wear some type of leather boat/deck shoe (Sperry, Irish Setter, West Marine brand). The problem with leather is that they all end up stinking.

I bought a pair of Soft Science Fin, wore them once and they rubbed my heel raw. I emailed Soft Science and they are supposed to be sending me 2 pair of Fin 2.0 in different sizes to try.  If these don't work out I'll prolly get some of the Columbia water shoes or Olukais

cant be a lot of fly guys on this thread any shoe makes line management a lot more of a struggle.  I'm always bare foot but casting platform and poling platform both have sea deck.  I cant tell you the last time I wore shoes in my skiff.

Should not make that much of a difference, I'm a fly guy and shoes done correctly do not create any issues for me.

Barefoot. And when it's to cold, Panhandle Nikes (white seafood boots).

And for those of you saying that going barefoot hurts your back or ankles,,, you might want to see a doctor or some other specialist.

Going barefoot is a natural act that every human should be able to do without pain or discomfort.

There is a lot of truth to this.

I generally am barefoot on boat my, but if I wear croc flops 90% on he rest of my life

I am on about year 10 of wearing these kind with leather strap. Can only seem to find em at the croc outlets but they look a lot better than the rubber ones for wearing daily.
