Popular Post whichwaysup
What a day yesterday. Got into the marsh right before sunrise and found the rare combination of perfect tide, no wind, and shockingly, no bugs. Poled my two oldest boys around the grass lines for 3 hours (yes, Master anglers CAN be poled!). The fish were happy, we had over 10 blow ups, 4 fish on but unbuttoned (finally realized bad hooks!), and ended up bringing one 25” over the gunnels. Dropped off my younger son, picked up my older son’s buddy to venture offshore in pursuit of bonito. I have never tried to take advantage of this run before, so I wasn't optimistic, but first cast, first fish. We landed as many as we cared too. Found some nice offshore flounder, mackerel, and big sea bass as well. First time having fresh boat sushi, too. When you can take a boat into 10 inches and then 45 ft, its a good day!
