What did you do to your boat today?

You do know that the old lap strakes made by Bob had a version with the console on the side all the way forward to the front deck. This opened up the entire cockpit and the anglers were able to jump around while fighting big fish. Tried to find a picture of one but no luck, there was one one this website??🔎Best I can find.

That's Dinner Key launch...was there many times back in the early 70's when we'd head out to Stiltsville in the middle of the night to go bug hunting..and hang lights on my buddy's skiff and shrimp all night.....of course that was .back when you could ;)

Thanks for the post....great memories....BTW, I think I might have the same year trailer :)

I did decide on the side console and am re rigging everything now. Hopefully the boat will be water ready by next weekend.

When the day comes to dig out the 25 year old fuel tank on my MA17, I'll be doing the same.......the boat will ride fine with the tabs trimmed....but, I like the fact you have alot of room...I'd love to put a Capt's Chair in the port forward for passengers.....it would be super comfortable....

i Didn’t go crazy on mine. I cleaned it with a 80 grit flapper wheel. I was good with that and my 13 year old said can you make the letters black. So I just hit it with metal polish by hand to a bit of a shine

I was thinking the same thing. Would look good with the engraved letters black. Have you redone the straps that hold down the fold up seat before? Going to do mine, trying to figure out what would work the best.

Progress has been a little slower with the birth of our first child but I was given a pass to do some work the last two afternoons. With summer bookings coming in and already having had to pass a trip I am very ready for this to be done.

Console is wired and installed, wiring sleep deprived was a real challenge. All that remains is a few plumbing items, build a console door, and to finish the poling platform.

For the platform I removed the two rod holders as I did not like their angle and never used them. From here I am going to paint/coat it black. My feeling is to go with some type of bedliner product to cover some areas of light pitting. Then paint the top and install it back.
