Had a chance to remind myself how well this hull handles chop when the east wind was NOT 5-10 and was blowing straight in from the outer banks. whichwaysup Posted May 14, 2021 Report Share Posted May 14, 2021 Well, I was planning a dawn patrol fishing trip this a.m., but it got hijacked late last night by a crew of groms who had other plans for my boat. We had a nice swell rolling in and they wanted to catch it at Masonboro Island, and apparently, I was just the guy for the job. I agreed rather grudgingly last night, mentally watching my topwater trout forray go up in smoke, but this a.m., as we drove out to the island, the combination of a beautiful sunrise and a boat full of eager smiles started to melt my resistance. When we crossed over the dunes and saw perfect 4-5 foot sets rolling in, I was all in. So, what did we catch? A lot of waves, a couple barrels, and a whole lot of smiles.
