What did you do to your boat today?

Not sure how you reverse your tree boat removal procedure to put your boat back on the trailer. Would love to see pics. 🤔

1.) Secure the stern to the tree with a rope

2.) Slowly pull the trailer forward by about 3-4 feet

3.) Lift the stern up with large blocks on each end and of the stern

4.) Slowly pull the trailer forward to where you can insert a V cut block for the bow area.

5.) the bow is now secure and the trailer is removed from under the hull

6.) never the process to put it back on (lift the bow using the floor jack) and place into the V bunks - attach the strap.

7.) the Stern will be higher than the bow at this point and you can back it down under it.

8.) when you get to about 6 inches of the stern, lift the stern from under neath and raise and remove the stern blocks.

9.) lower on the trailer and then use the strap to move it forward.

I will look for the pics or the post...it was many years ago.

Cleaned the boat. Broke down and purchased a Brownell BL2 boat lift. Allowed me to use a creeper to speed things up. Top coat is Permanon. I hope it will slow down the staining the North River in Currituck, NC is capable of.

Pics are not in any particular order. 21E2A3BB-87F6-4124-91DE-4D10C475A18D.thumb.jpeg.427894637c299243dd6939445cf1c114.jpeg44F7B887-38D4-450A-8319-3FB52D40CA56.thumb.jpeg.ac3dc2dda0a62381cbf206e66699461c.jpeg0D9763F7-E295-44E3-A1A4-73C0DC99F606.thumb.jpeg.2ae0268026634e12afa5dbf892f408f5.jpeg4711A058-7DE8-4B3C-9156-E99D1E4021E4.thumb.jpeg.52b92af02dfbde688fdd75a1ca44f489.jpeg4DBB03BA-48F3-4545-A5EF-DD68069236B1.thumb.jpeg.828fad9d8df03e6c6dced2a7063e0842.jpeg5EBA8D44-8FDE-4FD2-ADF2-CD093B494584.thumb.jpeg.77ae3494fff71b31e0841c5f3fef4378.jpegB4FE3F38-A4B9-4F98-ABF5-CC0F67D1BC7A.thumb.jpeg.3001ff15c6a0e2492f9a7040a1244bce.jpeg6945BCFF-311C-4A87-9AEE-0AE552373A27.thumb.jpeg.c8fbd123a05fafbaee0d40cb1292c29c.jpegFD134677-59F0-4A0D-A109-E212D3D4226B.thumb.jpeg.e7a5947f524c2c886d0f379b37477831.jpeg

Really well done!!  How is the fishing up in that area in the winter?  I used to drive along that area all the time and wondered what was out there!

This weekend I rebuilt my carburetors. Yamaha 90hp 2 stroke. I had one carburetor that was leaking between the float bowl cover and the carb body when squeezing the fuel line bulb. It seems to me that Oring style gasket could afford to be a little bigger for a better seal. Since I was going that far into the motor for a couple more gaskets I decided to replace the stainless reeds for Chris Carson composite reeds. I’m hoping for a smoother and more responsive throttle. Has anyone installed them with some feedback? I didn’t get to run it yet. While doing all the work I noticed a spot with salt right below the lifting ring above the top cylinder water jacket. After scraping the salt away I found a hole. I used a dremel to clean to bare metal and filled with JB weld. It really surprised me because this is a low hour motor that looks new otherwise. Fingers crossed it holds.

- washed them out

- 60 grit sand paper on 5” round sander

- 220 grit… “ “

- hand sanded with 220 block to pick up what I missed

- vacuum in between

- acetone and tack cloth

- Behr spray paint - love the color

Note:  I would NOT recommend this paint!  Goes on too heavy and the vertical walls run too much, even when sprayed at 8-10”.  I’m going to have to sand out some run marks between coats.

Does anyone know what this is called and where to find it?  Appears to be 1”x with a small L shaped hook under the gunnel lip. Need to remove, wet sand, polish and replace this trim with new. I’ve seen some with clips, but they’re not tall enough. Mine has been screwed into the gunnel. Not sure if that was stock or done by a previous owner.

Sorry, can't help with the trim piece, but your compartments are looking brand new.  Tight work!!

Thanks. Lids are being done now. First coat down. What a difference!  Going to gelcoat the 2 livewell’s and have them prepped/ready, but couldn’t find any styrene local to thin it out for the Preval sprayer, so they’re going to have to wait a week for UPS ground.

Curritcuk,  How far forward was that front jack.  Just seemed like it should be back a little more.  May just be a visual thing.

My thought too RacerxV6.  I'd feel safer about it if it supported the straight line portion of the keel.  Nice setup though.  I want one too, lol.
